Focusing on increasing your website’s traffic can take up a lot of your time so you want to make sure that the traffic you’re driving to your webpages converts into sales. In today’s Quick and Easy Conversion Boosting Hacks post, I’m going to share a few simple tactics you can implement to capture your visitors’ attention, boost your conversion rates and generate profits.
So, Let’s Take a Look at Quick and Easy Conversion Boosting Hacks
It’s vital that your website or landing page is optimised for conversion. By this I mean that the content on these pages motivates your visitors to take some sort of action.
Here are a few quick and easy ways to achieve that:
1. Don’t Ask Your Visitors to do too Much
This is a crucial element if you’re driving traffic to a landing page. You should only ask your visitors for the information that you absolutely need. For example, your opt-in form should only request their name and email address. You can segment your lists afterwards as your subscribers open and respond to your emails but to achieve the best opt-in rates you must keep it simple. Your visitors will only want to spend a few seconds filling in the necessary information in order to subscribe to your list. Adding more fields for them to fill in will seriously reduce your conversion rates. It will be easier to grow your list if your potential subscribers have to do as little as possible.
You should make every effort to ensure your page is clean and crisp so that your visitors know exactly what they need to do. Avoid confusing them at all costs because if they get confused about what action they need to take you’ll lose them. It’s also important to keep all your conversion elements above the fold for maximum results.
Another key factor is to minimise navigation. In fact, get rid of it entirely so that all your visitors see when they land on your page is your headline, opt-in form and incentive offer.
2. Attention-Grabbing Headlines
Your headline should immediately grab their attention and get them interested. Also, make sure it speaks directly to them. You want it to provide them with a reason to hand over their name and email address.
It’s important to test out different headlines to decide what works best for your target audience. Your headline must engage readers and convince them to continue reading your page until you have closed the deal. The object of your page is to convert prospects into buying customers. A high-converting sales page has the power to make you a lot of money.
Remember that your headline is the single most important component in your marketing system. More people will read your headline than will read the body of your copy. In fact, many people read the headline and then skim through the copy down to the price. It’s tempting to be clever and creative with your headline but essentially you need to keep it simple and very direct.
3. Replicate What Works for Others
I recommend checking out landing pages within your niche. You can study them and design your own opt-in pages around the ones that have been successful. Obviously, I don’t recommend copying others work entirely but take the opportunity to model your page on the ones that have proven to work.
A great way to increase your opt-in rates is to add a video, a high-quality product box or a graphic that represents your incentive offer.
4. Offer an Irresistible Incentive Offer
The offer you make must be of clear value as well as appeal to your target audience. Don’t make the mistake of trying to cater to everyone. To maximise your results, create multiple landing pages that are aimed at specific target audiences. Then offer a giveaway that will help them in some way.
Even when you’re concentrating on just one niche, it’s important to speak to segments of your market. For example, if you sell a guide on becoming an Amazon Author you could set up a landing page that’s aimed at those just starting out and offer them a free report on “5 Steps to Becoming an Amazon Best-selling Author”. Then build a second landing page that’s targeted to those who’ve already published on Amazon but are looking to increase their exposure and boost their readership.
The more targeted your incentive offer is the easier it’ll be to get your prospects signed up to your list.
Drafting High Converting Sales Copy
When it comes to crafting your sales page keep your message clear and easy for your reader to understand. You want to immediately connect with your reader and ultimately convince them to make a purchase. If you’re not excited by your sales copy, then there’s a good chance your prospects won’t be interested, and your page won’t convert.
You want to direct your readers’ attention to the most important benefits of your product using bullet points, headlines, sub-headlines, and other visual cues. Each section of your copy should be presented in short, clear sentences so that they can quickly glance at your copy and find the information that’s most important to them. Put yourself in your prospects shoes and answer the type of questions they might be thinking. Furthermore, it’s vital you break up your copy with high quality images and video content, where appropriate, to increase engagement.
Remember to use language that your readers will be familiar with and talk to them as if you were talking to a friend. Making your copy personal will make your readers feel as if you’re alongside them. Appeal to their self-interest, i.e., what’s in it for them.
Ask yourself these questions about your prospects:
- What kind of terminology do they use?
- How would they describe the product or services they purchase?
- How do they define the problem?
- What are their demographics?
The more information you glean about your target audience, the easier it will be for you to create effective sales copy that speaks directly to them and addresses their needs and wants.
Add a No-Questions-Asked Money-Back Guarantee
By offering a no-questions-asked money-back guarantee you’re removing all the risk to your buyer. By promising your prospects this you’re reinforcing the belief that you have in your product. You’re also announcing to them that you’re not afraid to stand behind it by making sure they’re completely happy with their purchase. The increase in sales will compensate for any refund requests.
Utilise Power Words
Make sure you insert power words into your headline and sub-headlines and pepper the body of your content with them too. Positive words such as “Special”, “Exclusive”, “Discover” and “Success” all stimulate emotion.
Use Compelling CTA’s (Call to Action)
This is one of the key elements of any successful sales page. Ensure you use concrete action words that motivate your readers to take action. For example, “Buy Now”, “Grab your Copy”, “Sign Up Today”, etc.
Provide a Clear Value Proposition
Your readers are only interested in one thing: how your product or service benefits them. So ensure you reveal the benefits upfront. It’s also essential to mention the features of your product or service. However, describing how your product or service will help them or solve their problem is number one.
Introduce the most important advantage or greatest benefit of your offer straight away to keep your readers interested. Therefore, if a reader doesn’t engage with anything else on your page and gives up reading the rest, they’ll understand why they should respond to your offer.
Provide Social Proof
If you’ve gathered a substantial following on social media, then add your follower count to the footer of your sales page. Now, because you’re showing that you’ve established yourself in your niche this will help to increase your conversions. Also, it will encourage readers who might not be ready to make a purchase to join your online community.
Present a Clear USP
A critical aspect of branding is deciding on your USP (Unique Selling Point). Your brand must offer something that makes you stand out from your competitors. Think about what sets you apart from your competitors and makes you different. Why should someone choose your products or services instead of those of your competition? It’s essential you state clearly what your USP is in all your sales copy.
Use Testimonials and Case Studies
Adding positive testimonials into your sales page increases your credibility and demonstrates to your prospects that your product has worked for other people. It’s a good idea to gather testimonials from people who are like your prospects so that they can relate to them. Don’t use experts and gurus unless your product or service is aimed at that demographic. This is important to consider because if you’re selling a product or service to a beginner; you want them to realise that they don’t have to possess any special skills or experience to benefit from your offer.
Be Honest and Ethical
Consumers are smart. They’re not going to be fooled by hype-based sales pitches. Keep focused on presenting clear, honest, compelling copy that doesn’t make ridiculous claims. Your readers won’t buy into exaggerated offers, and not only will you risk losing their trust and respect, but you’ll also lose a potential sale.
