
Today I’m going to share 25 blog post ideas with you. Have you ever struggled to work out what to write about in your blog posts? If, like me, you’ve committed to posting regular and valuable content then thinking time, research and writing can take up lots of your precious time. Agreed?
Here’s 25 blog post ideas which I hope will help you create content for your future posts.
1. Tip List
Consider a goal, subject or topic and then list as many tips as you can think of that could be beneficial to someone. Also be as specific as you can and research as many as possible. Don’t worry if you run out because you can always ask your readers to send in their own.
2. Share a Demonstration Video from YouTube
Simply click on the “share” link beneath the video, then paste the “embed” code into your blog post with a headline, brief explanation and a few further links or a call-to-action for more details.
3. Checklist
Offer a series of things that your reader needs to remember or complete in order to achieve a specific goal.
4. Digest
Whenever you read a book, watch a film, or attend a course that you think may be of interest to your readers, summarise the key points. Then you could simply create a list of bullet points.
5. A Best of the Month/Year
Pick a timeframe and then select the 10 best examples of something related to your niche, for example, “The 10 Best Traffic Generating Sources of 2020”.
6. Recommendation
For the purpose of a recommendation reveal a product, service, book or system that you’ve tried and really liked. Then write a few sentences on its benefits and features and why you recommend it.
7. Announcement
This could be something that’s happening on your blog or a new product or service you’re offering. In addition, perhaps you’ve an important piece of industry news to share or have bagged an interview with a top influencer in your niche.
8. Tutorial
Create a step-by-step tutorial, either a written guide or using images or video, on how to use a product or how to perform a certain task.
9. Compile Links
Collect the best links you’ve found relating to a particular topic (for instance, “7 Top Online Marketers Websites You Should Read”). Subsequently pass them on to your readers in a bullet point list with a brief explanation on why you recommend each one.
10. Guest Post
Ask someone you’ve connected with on social media or likewise through your blog to write a post for you (in return for a link to their site or a reciprocal post on their site from you). Give a brief introduction and then let them take over.
11. Warning
For instance, is there a piece of software, product, service, book, or system that you’ve tried and don’t like? If so, write a few sentences on why you don’t like it, making sure to include back-up and provide proof.
12. Motivate
Share an image or story to explain why it really inspires you or offer a piece of advice that has helped motivate you.
13. Questions & Answers
Specifically take the most common questions you’ve received from customers and readers. Then create a post with all the questions and answers.
14. Countdown
Begin a countdown to a new product launch or event, then hint at some of the benefits of the product and create a buzz around it.
15. Tell a Story
Has something surprisingly funny, strange, revealing, or interesting happened to you, related to your field of interest? If so, share this with your readers.
16. Myth Bust
Take some of the most common misconceptions about a business, niche, product, topic, or person. After that, challenge each one in turn.
17. Share a Flaw
In order to connect with your readers more intently, be honest about a flaw, a mistake you’ve made, a bad habit you struggle with or a failure you’ve experienced. Indeed, showing your readers that you’re not perfect makes you more human.
18. Compilation eBook
Use your blog post to give away a PDF or eBook of material you’ve created. It could be a “Best of” in detail or a series of posts on a particular topic.
19. Begin a Series
Offer some help or advice in a series of blog posts so that your readers are prompted to keep returning. As you post more in the series, make sure you include links back to the earlier posts.
20. Social Media Recommendations
Share 10-20 of your favourite people you follow on Twitter/Facebook/Pinterest/Instagram or whatever networks you’re a member of. Many of those influential people you feature will tweet the post.
21. Funny Anecdote
Pass on something funny to brighten your readers day. Just make sure it doesn’t contradict your brand or risk insulting readers. Everyone needs a smile.
22. Infographic
Take complex information or a complicated process and turn it into an eye-catching image. It’s a good idea to use a mixture of elements such as photos, cartoons, arrows, and bubbles to get your message across.
23. Life Hacks
Come up with a list of shortcuts that readers could implement to achieve something. For example, “20 Tools That Automate Your Social Media Marketing for You”. Don’t be afraid to link to pieces of software or online resources, your readers will thank you for it.
24. Comparison
Take two similar products, services or websites and compare each feature and benefit (price, usability, customer service, etc.), with a score for each. Then you can choose the winner.
25. Come off Duty
There will be certain times of the year (Christmas, mid-summer, bank holidays, New Year’s Day) where you can have a bit of fun off duty and create a post that’s nothing to do with your business. If the country is taking time off, then join them with jokes, playful ideas or simply send a friendly season’s greeting.
