Incredibly 55% of website visitors spent less than 15 seconds actively on a web page. So that’s no time at all to get them engaged and interested in your products or services. In fact I’ve been one of those 55% numerous times as I’m sure you have been too!

Nowadays we all want instant gratification.

As our time is precious and we all lead busy lives we want to put a finger, or mouse, on what we want instantly and if we can’t then we just move on!

If a picture paints a thousand words then how many is a video worth? Video is becoming more and more essential as a way for businesses to get their marketing messages across.

It’s true that previously this was the domain of the big companies with huge budgets. However, just as web technology has levelled the playing field and allowed the smaller companies to “punch above their weight” with awesome looking websites, now video marketing is within reach of even the smallest of promotional budgets.

It’s a fact that our attention span has decreased dramatically. Every time we go online, we’re bombarded with a barrage of information. More often than not we become blind to what’s happening around us. We don’t pay attention to ads or banners or pop-ups. We just switch off unless something REALLY grabs us.

This is when, as a business owner, you need to be noticeably different from your competitors. It doesn’t matter how good your product or service is, the clock is ticking and if you don’t attract your visitors’ attention immediately they’ll be off your site and opening their wallets on someone else’s. You have to grab ’em by the eyeBALLS!

Just take a look at some of these stats:

  • 78% of all Internet users watch online videos every week.
  • 55% of these people watch them EVERY DAY.
  • And 65% watch over 3/4 of the video they’re streaming.
  • In addition, 50% of all mobile Internet usage is online video and this is only going to increase.

So far today some 720,000 hours of video have been uploaded to YouTube!

Customers trust websites that have videos and are far more likely to buy from a business that has one. Videos have the ability to engage visitors more, compared to traditional advertising. They have a magnetic effect on your target audience. Having said that, with so much video content online now, it’s vital that your videos are:

  • Engaging – your average Internet user has the attention span of a goldfish.
  • Professional – a wobbly handheld Smart Phone just won’t cut it.
  • High definition – remember, this is YOUR business.
  • Clearly audible with the best possible sound quality – no barking dogs or background traffic noise.

The trend for video is growing and it’s the perfect visual means of getting your message across. Communicating with your visitor can now be a totally different experience. You can speak to them directly, connecting with them straight away and delivering the information they’re looking for quickly.

I hope you found my Grab ‘Em By The eyeBALLS post useful. Now it’s time to start creating your own videos.

To Your Success!
