In today’s Why You Need a Website to Stay Credible and Searchable post, I’m going to share why you need a website to stay credible and searchable. Do you have a website? And if so, is it doing the job for you?

By that I mean…

It’s easy to find on Google.
You get regular traffic (visitors) every day.
It’s converting visitors into email subscribers and social media followers.
You get links and recommendations from other websites.
You’re making sales from it.

Today’s Internet users want to see that you are trustworthy and genuine. They also want to believe that you have their best interests at heart and that you have something of worth to offer them.

That’s why having a great website is more important than ever.

It should include the following elements:

Usefulness

Your website is a place where potential customers can get information, for instance, about your products and services. You can also provide value through an active blog that offers entertainment, advice, reviews, news and resources.

Trust

This is an opportunity to demonstrate that you are a credible organisation or individual. So posting photos, achievements, testimonials, and regularly updated content all give proof that you’re the real deal.

Branding

In general, your website is a window into your personality and world view, from the colours and layout to the images you choose and the style of your content. In other words, at a glance, it communicates your values, belief, purpose, manifesto or mission.

Searchability

Your business should be easy to find on search engines and through social media. If you keep your website updated and topical, it will get picked up by search engines more often. This means potential customers will find you when they’re looking for help. If you keep adding interesting new content, it is more likely to get shared on social media.

Social buttons

Your website is a great place to direct your social media followers for videos, articles, news, and helpful information. In turn, it allows you to advertise your social media accounts to new followers.

Lead generation

Your website is the ideal vehicle for picking up new email subscribers by offering exclusive information, free gifts and reports or discounts to those who provide you with their details.

Sales capability

Your website is your shopfront. It’s the place to show off your wares or link to your eCommerce site.

Backlinks

When your site gets referred to by other quality websites, it builds your credibility and pushes you up the Google rankings. This results in giving you even more visibility.

Responsive design

When people are on the go they will want to be able to access your information easily or order from you at the tap of a button. It’s essential nowadays that you have a mobile-friendly website. This gives you a huge advantage, offering maps, numbers, purchase options and useful links that help your customers.

When your website does all the above, then it’s working for you. Well done. I hope you found my Why You Need a Website to Stay Credible and Searchable post of value.
